How Compass Point Creative Began

I have loved books for as long as I can remember. Long before Compass Point Creative existed, I was the child who always had a book in hand, the one who wanted to talk about stories, recommend them, and stay in their worlds a little longer after the final page.

That love of storytelling eventually grew into writing, then into marketing, and finally into a clearer understanding of how difficult it can be to share creative work in a world that expects people to be both artists and brands at once.

Compass Point Creative was built at that crossroads — between story and strategy, creativity and visibility, meaningful work and the online presence needed to support it. I created this studio to help authors and creatives find a clearer path forward through thoughtful branding, strategic websites, and support that feels collaborative rather than extractive.

I’m Riley — a marketer, writer, and lifelong believer in the power of stories to connect people. My background spans brand strategy, digital marketing, content, and communications, but the thread that runs through all of it is the same: helping meaningful work find the right audience in a way that feels clear, intentional, and true to its voice.

Because I’m also a writer, I understand that creative work is never just content. It is personal. It takes time, care, and vulnerability to share. That perspective shapes the way I work with clients. I bring both strategic thinking and creative sensitivity to every project, helping authors and creatives build brands, websites, and visibility plans that support the work without flattening what makes it distinct.

When I’m Not Working, I’m Usually Still in a Story

When I’m not working with clients, you’ll usually find me reading, writing, or somewhere in between. Books have shaped so much of how I see the world, and that love of storytelling continues to influence both the creative and strategic sides of my work.

I’m often reading fantasy and romantasy, working on my own writing, or paying close attention to the ways readers and writers connect online. That ongoing relationship with stories — both as a reader and a writer — is part of what keeps Compass Point Creative rooted in the world it serves.
